Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band Perform!

The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band both performed at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association State Band and Orchestra Festival on May 4. The Wind Ensemble received straight First Division ratings. In fact, out of a possible 15 grades on the rubrics the judges use, they were given straight A grades. This is quite an accomplishment at State Festival. The Symphonic Band also received straight First Division ratings. They were given 13 A grades and 2 B grades on their rubrics. This marks the first time in at least 30 years that two different groups attended State Festival and received straight 1 ratings. Our Jazz Band also attended State Jazz Festival at the end of March and they received straight First Division ratings. This all caps an especially successful year for our band program that saw multiple group and individual accomplishments and speaks to the outstanding work that our band students are doing.
